Self-taught or Emerging - how do I describe myself as an artist? Well both I guess, as I am not art-school trained, however all I know is that having been a spectator and great admirer of a very eclectic mix of art for many years, after retiring in 2001 I began a tentative journey of discovery with my own paintings, working in oils and acrylics, and became absorbed in developing the skill to interpret my imagination onto canvas. When the inspiration starts, then to be totally lost in the flow of the moment, hour or days until that final brushstroke, with adrenaline buzzing, for me is an exhilarating and spiritual space to be. My genre evolves and changes as my experience grows and at the present time I am enjoying exploring more abstract representational styles. My colours unconciously are usually bold and happy, portraying my love of life.
