A group of artists from Ideford, near Chudleigh are bringing their work to show in Chagford for just one day. Nestled amongst the Haldon Hills, Ideford is a thriving, working village with its farms, garage, pub and church. Among the 300 or so inhabitants are a group of people who share a love of the arts in its many forms. This group of artists first featured together in Devon Open Studios. After many successful exhibitions based in Ideford, the decision was made to take their work 'on the road' choosing to visit smaller venues in order to bring the ethos of developing skills and inspiring others to a wider audience than is usually found in a gallery environment.
In the two years since its inception Ideford Arts on the road has travelled across Devon continuing to find new venues and audiences. In addition each exhibition now includes at least one invited guest artist or craftsperson. Dennis Redfern who joins Ideford at Chagford, produces unusual hand built ceramics that are both decorative and functional,
The group are made up of a wide range of creative disciplines ranging from painters using acrylic, oils and watercolour, wildlife and landscape photographers, silk painters and glass workers, and printers using collagraphic techniques., Images include animal studies, seascapes, landscapes and transport; bowls, lamps and mirrors using stained and fused glass, jewellery made from Dichroic glass, limited edition photographs of Dartmoor and the Devon Coast and handmade prints watercolour, acrylic and collagraphic techniques. The styles range from the figurative to abstract.
